About Hood Square
Background Story
Hood Square was founded by Knowledge B aka Abdul-Hakim Works and CEO Hood Square in 2020 during his ongoing incarceration as a way to one day give back to the community that raised him and other similarly situated communities.

Exclusively for all the pre-teens growing up unfortunately in tough urban environments. We at Hood Square see the need to catch kids early on to show them that it's ok to love school, get good grades, and be a proud bookworm from the hood.

Hood Square Univ is the nonprofit extension of the Hood Square brand, founded by Knowledge B. Built on the values of transformation, education, and self-empowerment, Hood Square Univ exists to equip justice-impacted and underserved communities with tools for personal growth, leadership, and reentry success. From prison cells to college campuses, the organization provides life-changing programs, mentorship, and real-world skill-building rooted in a streetwise and booksmart philosophy. At Hood Square Univ, the mission is clear: turn pain into purpose and the hustle into higher learning.
